I just finished the hardware install on my v1.0 with a xenium gold chip. The xenium OS works fine and I can ftp to my xbox. I tried ftp'ing my m8 and m8plus bios but with each bios when i try to load it it loads the usual Xbox logo with the pink Evox symbol. After loading it goes to the Xbox life screen in the MS dash and says unable to connect. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to load the Evox dash as well to use the bios? Please HELP!

If it matters.....I copied the m8.bin file and the m8plus.bin file to the C drive (not in a folder)

The Evox bios and the Evox dash are two completely different things. You need to install the dash. I recommend using an autoinstaller, or you could just FTP the dash files to your Xbox.

Which dash do you think would work best with m8 or m8plus? Also....does it matter where I copy the bios/dashboard files to on the HD?

Any dash would work fine. You should try them all out to see which one you like the best. The default boot path is c:\evoxdash.xbe. This does not mean you are limited to evox of course. You can always rename the xbe of the dash you choose to be evoxdash.xbe.
