with a xbox version 1.0

flashbios 3.0.3, starts up.
But what bios version do i have to burn, from xbins??
Because i tried differend bioses, but when he says "Please insert CD - Flashing Mode"
i put the cd (tried rw and r type already) in the xbox, then he says "Waiting for drive" and then opens the drive again and says "Please insert CD - Flashing Mode" ?? blink.gif

What do i wrong huh.gif ?

I assume you are using CDs, not DVDs?

I know I've run into problems many times even with CD-RW discs, so I suggest burning to DVD-/+R.

Make sure the bios is unzipped (*.bin file is what should be on the disc) and that you place it in the root folder (unless instructed otherwise).

I would use X2 5035 (the non 1.6 version). Make sure to unrar the file from xbins and you will find the bios inside. Make sure to follow this then this then this.

ok... its really not that hard. heres wat u gotta do:

Check and make sure your switch is on bank 2, then after you load flashbios, go on your computer (assuming you have a LAN set up and your pc and xbox r in it.) and go to your browser of choice.(IE works best, but firefox wurks.) next go to "Enable Network Flashing" on flashBIOS. it should then take a few seconds to hook up to the network. go back to your pc and type in http://your xbox's ip. type that in but actually put in your box's ip. then it should bring up the FlashBIOS flashing menu on your browser. make sure the bios file is unrared. i usually put mine on the desktop for easy findability. go to browse on the flash bios menu. find your BIOS.bin file wherever you put it and click ok. after that, go to upload and flash on the flashbios menu. make sure you protecty is off on the chip, or else it wont flash. do not turn your box off while it is flashing. the yellow bar shows erasing the current bios, the green shows flashing the new bios. after that, just turn ur switch to the first bank and enjoy your flashed x2.6CE.

HINT: make sure you check the size of the BIOS before you flash it. i screwed up my 2.6 by flashing a messed up evox 1 mb bios. then i got a x3 and its great. just always make sure your bios isnt more than 512 kb because it will overwrite you flashbios on bank 2 if you dont. if you erase FlashBIOS, then you're screwed unless you get a programmer.

I read also that, once your xbox has booted into flashbios, you can flip the duox2 switch from pos 2 to pos1. That way, when you flash, the cromwell bios in bank 1 will be overwritten instead of the flashbios in bank2.
