i cant get the slayers install to come up i put a WD800BB 80gig hdd on there and it wont read the cd


1. i got the file
2. i burnt it as an iso image file
3. xbox says its not readable
4. i tried to clean dvd rom reading lense
5. it didnt work

i have a 1.6 xbox and thats pretty much it

also is there a way to install it on my computer then put it on xbox then lock it?!?!

First, try different media. Depending on the DVD drive you have, they will read different brands. There is a list somewhere here of what media to use for what drives.

Second, you can FTP your C and E drives over to the PC and build the new hard drive with Xboxhdm. If you get the eeprom from the original drive and put it in the eeprom folder before making the disk, you can lock it prior to putting it into the Xbox.

Third, you never said if you have a softmod or a chipped Xbox. With a chipped Xbox, you can do what you were trying. With a softmod, you can never build a new hard drive in the Xbox off a CD. Never use Slayer's or any other softmod on a softmodded Xbox.

It depends what dvd drive you have. If you have a Thompson or a Philips then it will have a hard time reading burnt disks. try to ftp the file over to your xbox and move it into the C: using Xbmc.
