Hi i am REALLY considering getting this mod chip but do not understand how i am ment to backup my games in order to make getting this chip worth while.

i have downloaded the program that is on the faq part of the website but that does nothing but bring up a quick dos command window and close.

if anyone could either tell me how step by step on how to do this or link me to a page that has this information i would appreciate it.

also will i need to be using the 360's dvd drive and connect it to my comp in order to get the dvd image or will my regular dvd-RW work fine?.

And would the security sectors be in a diff place on the AUS game disks?
i have tried the tuts on this site but i cant see to get them to work.

I suggest you do some more reading and learning first if your going to attempt anything first, as it sounds like you need it.
Firstly I suggest you work out what DVDROM is in your 360 then read on how to flash firmware and extracting your key from the drive etc. All the tutorials are pinned. http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=523406
Don't buy a mod chip, cos all they are is a waste of money, its just a firmware chip for the DVD drive. You can flash yours for free.... Where in OZ are you? if you wanna PM me thats cool. If you get stuck.

Well i know what drive i have its the Hitachi and i didnt really want to flash the fw on the drive as i was scared that i would get banned (thats why i liked the Nme modchip it isnt always on it turns on if it detects a backed up dvd) but if there is also a way to flash it back to normal i might consider it now.
Also i have read http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=514345
and most articles in here

Yeh!! in SA...

Are you need to read more dude. You can't read the games in a pc drive... Or the xbox drive unless it has the hacked firmware to be recognised in windows... Your just reading the intro movie folders...
That ain't it.. You can flash back and forth, but really those chips are a waste of cash..... and to hard to fit for an average joe...

yeah i wasnt going to install it myself i was gona get a professional to do it.
so id have to flash the fw to get the dvd iso's anyway? even with the nme chip?.

The DVD original firmware would still be there but the chip when turned on will either patch it on the fly or be used as a seperate firmware. I think depending on the chip... Save your money for a real chip and just flash drive for now.... Why pay for something useless which can be done for free... blink.gif
