How do I get the skeleton key in Oblivion?
must be level 10 or higher. visit Nocturnal shrine.
it's a very nice tool...saves lots of hastle, even if ur good at lock picking, just have to mash the auto attempt till it opens.

But don't do that if you want to improve your security skill.
It boosts your security skill anyway I think? Only the last two pins drop when you make a mistake. And I've been able to do a few 'very hard' locks first go no worries.
i was fine with normal lock picking, could do very hard ones rather easily, it's just an unnecessary hastle that's all. i didn't even get the key till i was like level 21 or something, my security was 40 something prior.
but ya, you get a +40 with the key to the security skill, but it really doesn't mean anything since u don't need security after you have the key.

the only uncool thing about it is that you don't get to 'hide' it into your cell if you go to prison.
