That's funny.
But anyway, I reflashed my XTREME v1.2 from garyopa to the new v1.3 he released because it's supposed to work like a Samsung then, anyway. I did and it flashed 100% on everything and my originals and Live still work fine as can be but I still can't get backups going. My burner keeps the volume DVD-ROM on the booktype, and I use Verbatim media and burn at 2-2.4x in CloneCD, but my 360 still says it doesn't recognize the disc after it goes to a black screen and tries to boot it. I've tried 2 backups now and they both do that.
The only thing I can figure is that for all backups, even those found online, I still need to inject my SS into them since my Hitachi is v47... That's my guess, anyway. At least it's not bricked.

I dont know what burner you are using, but some aren't 100% compatible with clonecd. My Plextor 750A wasn't, and the 2 burns i did on that wouldn't work, but the same images burnt on the pioneer 111d worked fine.
Also i'd actually say that the backup's now load quicker than the originals did, i think its because the media check's are skipped altogether.

I'm still waiting confirmation that backups burned with a NEC burner will now work. I've heard vague rumors but nothing that sounds concrete.

When i try openeing flasher.exe i get this
violation d'acces a l'adresse 00479501 dans le module 'flasher.exe'. Lecture de l'adresse 000002F8.
Then when I click ok flasher opens but It sees my drive and i can change the dropdown to flash to xtreme1.3 but the go button is greyed out. Any idea why?

Well i still get that error but i restored my firmware to origional using a previous version of birdy flasher, then the new version would let me flash my 47 to 1.3 (i couldn't use garyopa becuase it doesn't support x64)
My nec 3550a burning verbatims still does not work even with xtrm 1.3 firmware on my v47 hitachi. My pioneer 111d should be here in a few days.

I just bricked my first Hitachi Drive ever and it wasnt even mine. IT was a version 59DJ and its dead as a doornail. I'm sure I know what I was doing since it said done. Dropped it in the customers 360 and got the hardware light (bottom right LED). I have to now give this customer my samsung xbox and figure out what the key was for this drive from the backup file.

I did this last night with garyopas 1.3 exactly the same problem. I have been searching all day and the only solution I haVE FOUND IS TO GET A NEW DRIVE.AAAAAAAAARRRRGGHHH!! Now the firmware is up and running as it should be I think the Devs/mods should start working on somthing to recover our badly flashed Hitachi's. Like the samsungs have. In my opinion this is more important on the Hitachi drives than trying to get a quicker boot. This should be top of the list now as I found out today 1 bad flash and your F**KED!!!.

I been able to sucessfully flash my drive with serveral different hacked firmwares and boot orignals with no problem. However I have not been able to test booting a back up copy yet. I have a v46d firmware, and untill now I have not been able to get the SS from my games, to make a back up copy. I have everything else needed, I have an old DVD-ROM that rips raw images with no errors using the hot swap method. I also have a pioneer 111d DL burner, with Verbatim disc. After using the Birdy 2.2 flasher I was able to get a ss.bin file from getss.exe. I was going to merge the image and ss.bin file with Xbox360 SS merger v1.6...but when it verifies the SS.bin, it comes up invalid. Has anyone been able to sucessfully rip a valid SS using a 46d drive, with this new flasher? I haven't tryed burning any of the images yet, I don't wants to make any coasters!
This link is the legal version of flasher, it containt no .scp file (scp file contain the firm patch). You can not flash you drive without .scp. Just replace the flasher.exe on your complet pack.

Flashed successfully with Birdy 2.2 on my 47DJ.
Tested with some dvd's I burned for fun with my Nec 2500@2510. Media is Mediarange and Philips. Still not working, but now I get a "dirty disk" error on the philips and the media player on the MediaRange. Just loaded into dashboard before.
Still waiting for my Pioneer and Verbatim media.

I dunno if im the only one but the backups i've made on dynex, fujifilm, verbatim all worked both dynex and fuji requiring the eject trick. Verbatims always worked with all firmware. However, since the 1.3, i could never get my dynex or fuji's to load but did notice that verbatim boots that much quicker. I dunno if i should keep or rollback to 1.2 Anyone else with similar experiences?

I have version 1.2r on my Hitachi dj at the mo, can I flash straight over it with this?
The readme confuses me;
Features; Upgrade a firmware over an existing xtreme
* Make sure you are flashing over an ORIGINAL image on your drive, if needed first do a RESTORE. Undesired results can be achieved if you flash over a previously flashed image.

well.. my existing laser has failed after only 10 hours or so or use! I put this down to the drives having a weak laser and being over worked trying to read the copied discs.
This new firmware obviously creates less stress on the laser.
My new laser is on its way to me, would like to put it in with the new firmware and hopefully it will last!

Just choose restore first, no original.bin seem to be necessary. then restart and choose to flash with new fw.

All reported ok, but when i came to testing it, its f$cked. To me it looks like birdys release is no where near 100% safe, id stay clear until there is a responce from him, with an explanation of why the failure rate is so high, when he states its supposed to be near 100% safe .

There was a bug in the last release of Birdy flasher when flashing v46 drives without the "f900" option.
If you can get the visible in windows again, reflashing with the latest Birdy flasher or my package it should fix the problem.

So basically you're saying, if you have a 46D ***ONLY*** use the v2.0 (f900 merged) firmware on it? And ***DO NOT*** flash any other "v46" firmwares when using birdy 2.2.
Is that CORRECT??
