How are you opening the XPR graphic files for the un-paintable cars?

Extract the car_*.cab file. Extract the DDS' from the livery0hi.xpr (menu model), livery0.xpr (livery0nc.xpr has no visual effect that I can see). Open the DDS' in your graphics editor.

I can get that far, but can't seem to either save the dds in the correct format or re-pack the xpr or the cab file correctly to work in the game. Does the cab file have to be re-signed to work when re-injected into the game? Maybe I'm using the wrong programs. I used miteexpr to unpack and re-pack the xpr files, cabextract to open the cab files and cabpack and makecab to re-pack the cab files. but I still get the DDE error upon viewing the car in the garage (game boots fine until then). Can you PM me with more specific info?

Did you manage to extract the DDS' from livery0.xpr with MiteeXPR?
I don't know how cabpack works.

Yes I can extract the livery0nc.dds and livery0.dds files but they are scrambled and I haven't figured out how to unscrable them yet, but it is a true dds file. I do have some file data from the program during extraction and maybe there's a clue or two in there. Are you able to extract those two dds files, and or, decode them into workable images?

You can't use MiteeXPR for those files. MiteeXPR is for DOA will also work for the XPR's following the same standard layout - such as livery0hi.xpr.
You need to find an app that's made specially for the Forza XPR's for this.
