I have a memorex dvd -r dl and i wanted to burn a game,but my lite-on doesnt even recognize the media to change the booktype,do I need +r to be able to change the booktype? or can i use the -r and if thats posible can someone tell me how please.Thanks in advance.

you can only change the booktype of +r +rw media,

if the firmware for your burner doesnt support booktype change , then it wont work,

research the firmwares for your burner,

usually when the firmware supports booktype changing it will do it automatically ,

but you can use dvdinfopro to change the settings ,

Yes I already upgraded my fw,and its supposed to suport booktype/bitseeting now,but I guess my problem is the media Im using so Ill need to buy a +r one. Thanks for your reply.

you can burn a game on dvd-r dl , but the dvd drive will most likely not read it ,

So if i get this thread, the box wont reconize -RDL? well... i'll find out soon enough im burning on +rdl at this moment... 20mins to go... :-P
