Hello sceners,

For a couple of weeks now, I've been flashing Samsung drives for friends and family,
however, last week, I've attempted to flash a hitachi v46, which didn't work.
  • The drive came into ModeB using Slax
  • Windows boots, drive is detected
  • Both GaryOPA and Birdy autoflashers extract original firmware flawlessly

When attempting to insert the modified Xtreme firmware (manually of autoflashing) the entire PC hangs.
The fact I've been able to flash numberous Samsungs make me doubt the fact it's my SATA controller.

So, I'm a luxurious person, and have a MCE in my living room which I decided to pull apart. It gave me exactly the same results. Mode B using Slax, detection in Windows, POW! So, i'm wondering if the problem could lie within the fact I'm using Windows MCE on both PC. Can anyone confirm having flashed their Hitachi on a MCE?

Hello every1 I having tried flashing hitachi drive and computer always goes crashing. ne1 knows if problem having with MCE of Windows Sorry for mistakes in writing i iz new!

It's not MCE, we just flashed a hitachi using my MCE machine. We had to use the wire trick to get it into mode B though, Slax wouldnt work for me.

We used Garyopa's latest.

Hello there,

Thank you for the reply, I just flashed a (nother) hitachi on the same MCE as before.
Didn't give me a single error. So it wasn't MCE. I guess it was the drive!
