i had an xbit installed on my xbox (friend installed it for me) and a couple weeks later, i got the sreen saying "you xbox need service" in 10 different languages. so i cracked open my xbox and took the mod chip out nad put everything back together. is this a no-no?

so now i would like to put in the Xecuter X3 mod chip and face plate LCD screen on my xbox soon. will the X3 work properly after taking out an old mod chip?

Yes, if your modchip removal was cleanly executed.

Also, note that the X3 modchip makes use of the full LPC port, while X-B.I.T modchips do not. If there is still a pin header installed in your Xbox, you'll need to add more pins to it (which you can take from the X3's supplied pin header) before installing the new modchip.
