ok, well, i have been using xbcopy to backup my games, but when i try to do lotr (fellowship and towers) the directory structure looks like a dvd vid disc (video.ts, vob's, and the like) and xbcopy wont do it, it treats it just like a dvd vid. is the game progged in a video format, and not a data format, but i cant see how that could be? not a big deal really, cuz i own the discs, but would like to know. thanks cool.gif

I own the game also and backed it up. This is what I did and it worked great. I ftp using flash fxp from XB to PC. Then I used simplex, to convert to iso, and burned my backup on to a DVD-R using RecordMax. My backup works great. I dont know if I answed your ques, but I dont think its video or data its an image (iso). I hope I helped.

That's weird? didn't have any dramas doing both those PAL games...You sure it is actually a game and not the video...Just checked the files from both games and there is no VTS or vob files in the root directory...

Are you trying to copy the original disk or a backup disk?

Because if you backed up your game using a PC DVD Rom and than backed it up to a DVD Rom, all it's going to show is the movie. Just a thought.

If not, and trying to copy from original I have no idea why, I have the game and I have no problems at all backing it up to HD.

uhh.gif alright, well, this is stranger than seeking "help" from the gov't, but i tried it again, and it went as smooth as the autobahn, i guess i might have had an actual dvd in the thompson at the time or one of my kids popped one in there, but its going. sorry, i have ripped about 10 games in the last two days, and i guess i need to take a break from the box. dry.gif props to all, peace, falcor
