I guess I was being rough with my HDD activity led wire.... Anyways the wire used for the HDD activity led (on the IDE cable) snaped in half and one end won't reach the other end anymore, so I was wondering... Does it matter if I use some other wire I have to reconnect it?
I have some 26 AWG Solid-core Wire that I bought from sickmods.net
Will that wire work?

Wire is wire, it doesn't matter.

should be fine to add some wire inbetween the two ends. Just make sure the resistance (ohms/guage) of the patch wire is less than the resistance of the original wire.
You don't want the electricity to slow down through the patch, because if it does the wire will heat up, and it could melt, or cause a short in the adjacent wires. (bigger wire usually means less resistance.)
Also soldering the wire so close to the rest if the IDE cable wires, isn't good.
You'd be better off just replacing the IDE cable.

I used the wire I had and it works fine. It is a little bigger then the IDE wire so it should be good.
