I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find any answers to it.
I'm having problems getting my dvd movie backups to work on the xbox.
The backups plays fine on my ps2 and on my standalone player, but not on my xbox.
I don't think it's a matter of bad dvd-r media because game backups on the same media plays
fine on the xbox. On some films the xbox seams to recognize it as a dvd movie because dvdx-2
starts up but it refuses to play the movie. I'm using dvd decrypter and dvd2one first and then I'm
using nero to burn the movies. Could it be that I have to make a xbox iso file of the movie first?
I really appreciate any help on this or if someone could point me to a guide about making successfully
dvd movie backups on the xbox.
Thanks in advance
RinGz

I think he's talkin about DVD-R

I do it the same way and don't get any dramas..The only thing I noticed is that the xbox won't play or see some of the special features etc.. on some disc's but it is ok on my pioneer stand alone..
Try using the original xbox dash to play the movie back up...
Try to eliminate whether it's the software or the dvd drive or what ever...What region are you using on the dvd movie...Maybe a problem here...I don't know about that region free player I think it's a bit suspect....
If that's the case then use editifo and make it region free...

Make sure the "XboxTM Compatability Mode" box is checked. If you don't see the option, turn off the "Wizard", or upgrade to the latest version of Nero.

It's ordinary dvd format. I'm not trying to convert the movie or anything like that

NO need for that it's just a movie...

Thanks for the quick replys, guys.
Senator - I don't have the dvd dongle. Doesn't I have to have that in order to play the movie from msdashboard?
feflicker - I've heard about the xbox option in the latest nero version, so I did upgrade it (think it's version v5.5.10.28), but I couldn't find where to check the xbox option. Do you now where to find that option?
senator
OK then you need to run DVDX2 then if no dongle.....
Yeh I'm trying to remember where that option is in NERO myself...OK it's when you go to burn a UDF disc it's in the UDF section on the folder options when you go to burn...or click write

Thanxs Senator, I found it. So that's maybe my problem? I've always burnt the movies in Nero as a new dvd-video compilation and just put the *.vobs and *.ifos in the VIDEO_TS folder. If I burn the movies as a new DVD-ROM UDF compilation, would I then be able to watch the movies in my standalone player or should I burn it as a DVD-ROM UDF/ISO compilation?
