Give up on divx....and get a dvd burner...
Nah seriously before XBMP used to occasionally bring out a dodgier version in that regard...Some times the previous versions worked better and clearer etc...I don't know if that is still the case coz I gave up on divx was taking too long to convert for the quality you got.. DVD is the go, invest in a burner they are reasonably priced now...

Try an earlier version, or hit the xbmp section...You can also burn them in udf apparently it works better than iso9660 disc..
But then you can't play in pc...What version do you have...Not just 2.3 but the date of the release...

Shit who knows what version it is then??I pretty well much guarantee it ain't a latest release...That maybe your problem..Go and get the latest version I think from xbmp.xbins.org but you need a log in password etc...
See the xbmp or IRC sections for gettin the latest...

Yeh dunno about that I remember changing cache to on in some versions and it made no difference then I updated or went back to a previous version and it was OK...

That's strange, all of my divx's play much better on my xbox than on my PC. From what day is your XBMP release?
You can try to use an older version, or reburn it (IF you are burning it to CD)

They can become choppy if the HD in Xbox has become defragged, I use my edrive for movies, copying a couple at a time or stream using relax. I'm using the latest 2.3CVS build of the media player.

I think there is a lot to do with the drive u're using if u play the movie from a iso9660 CD.
I'm using a samsung drive.
I compared it to my friend's RCA one and there is a difference.
I'm using the latest CVS build of XBMP. I watch a divx or xvid movie almost every other day and has never encountered any "skipping" or "Choppy" play. I loads for about 8 seconds, and then plays till the end smoothly.
To get even better performance, copy the whole movie to the HD.
BTW, i dont know why but caching somehow stopped working for me.
I turn on the cache function but it will still directly play.
But who cares, it would still play smoothly ^^
I do wish that XBMP will add a new function to enable us to copy iso9660 material to the XBOX HD.
Since it's like the only program out there that supports iso9660. (correct me if i'm wrong)

Some Divx files play and some don't. I don't know differences in Divx formats but the ones that work are:
.DVL.avi
The ones that don't work are:
[N Geographic].avi
Is there a way to get these non playing Avi's to play? I'm using a DVD-RW, iso format
