I have a WRT54G v5 and a v6 , is there no way to use these as Xlink Gateways? I'm currently on Xlink using the DD-WRT micro firmware, going through my PC. But I would much rather use my router, I know that the micro is the only firmware DD-WRT offers for that model due to the low Memory size. Just wondering if anyone else knew of a way.
does it have the option to run a startup script ? .. if it does it might work ..

Yes, it can run a script.

yah but I don't believe that this will run on a v5 or v6 due to it not being able to handle a firmware like DD-WRT, it can only handle a micro version, which does not support kaid

i think that the reason for kaid not being able to run on v4-6(not sure) is that linksys switched the i guess bios? on the newer routers before they were linux based but now they are something else i don't remember.

You can get Linux to run on the v5 routers but the problem is that they're very limited in RAM. Somebody actually got kaid to run, but it was very unstable.

I have a v5 wrt54gs running Kaid, you are right the the micro version is all that will run on the v5-v6 because linksys reduced the flash memory available when they switched away to a non linux firmware, but you can get the micro version to run kaid.
