we've been through this about 16,000 times already on these forums. perhaps not for you there isnt, but for many there IS a need for the convenience of this device. This product is designed for a specific crowd in mind and its perfect for that...its very simple to understand.

What about Toshiba-Samsung drives? It it compatible yet?
Tazmanian_Devil
No good to me yet, when it can do TS drives then im gonna own one of those bitches
Kibe
Same here...

Only planing to grab one of these when they are able to flash a TS drive!
X-Staff
V2 will be Samsung drives - we are still working on that - pretty difficult stuff but we'll do it. Just know we are dedicating a lot of time to it - the Sata Logic Analyzer was NOT cheap to buy.

I hope this thread doesnt turn into another 500 posts of people saying "i dont need this" because why bother posting that ? i dont get it ? blink.gif

Well done guys. The kit looks the biz and the cost is great pop.gif Already placed an order with MrModchip in the UK. Hope the ship date does not slip.

I guess you guys havent seen this. If you only have a laptop or a pc without sata, you still have some options. That setup was still cheaper than buying this new version...but for some people, this new kit is the better option.
SpikeMage
Awsome!
Oh wait...it doesnt work on my box...

Well I will say it is probably a cool idea. We wont know if it is any good untill someone Spends the Cash to BUY ONE. Then when we get to read how many Drives it Starts BOTCHING, or not Botching, that will be the test blink.gif
Heet
I'll get one for the TS when its available. Nice peice of hardware!
Hami
I dont have SATA on my work pc (the pc i use in my workshop) and i do all my modding there so this kit will be perfect for me. I have purchased the TSOP32 adapter for my programmer anyway though as im sure that all the people who opt out of buying these devices and end up accidently bricking a drive will need drives repaired.

Cheers All

Looks like I will be buying at least one of these. I have 2 questions though. How do you access this outside of the 360 so that you dont ever have to open the case again? and are there going to be 2 seperate versions or will v2 work with the samsung and hitachi? If not then looks like I am buying both of them. Once again thanks alot.

i'd like to know also.

I have xbox360 with a toshiba-samsung drive, I'd like to buy your v2 kit but i want to be able to re-flash the dvd firmware without opening the case again, just one more time to install the kit then that's it, never have to open again would be nice!~

Can you do that team xecuter? Make a external usb or sata port for flashing the dvd drive? so we don't have to have the case open and dvd drive out to flash....
gnutellafan
Does anyone read the notes? The point is that it will have an external connection so that AFTER opening the case once and fitting the mod you will not have to open the case ANOTHER TIME. It would be nice to see some pics of the external connection/setup.

Hopefully TX will also start to sell the items separately.

One thing that is not clear is will v2 support both drives or be TS only? Any ETA or progress notes?

If you read the news on team xecuters website eairler or on xbox-scenes newspage you will see that they said you will never have to open the case again. Didnt mean it as a question in my post

I have read the notes. I was just wanting to see some pics of the setup or if team xecuter could explain how you will be able to use it outside the case.

still not sure what this does that a $20 sata card will not do other than cost you more $ and not do ts drives .

nice tool, not that I'll be using it. Good adition for the home pirates (no offence to TX but thats what it'll mainly be used for).

That was a different product which allowed you to not open your case each time you needed to flash your drive.
It only has to be installed once... It's not a product to save your warranty.

This product is already straight forward and I think the pics in this post already show everything.

Brilliant packaging too. smile.gif

I see the usefulness of the Connectivity Kit portion of this package, but how does the X360 USB itself differ from any run of the mill SATA to USB connector that you can purchase anywhere on the internet for a fraction of the price? Ebay for instance?

http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?c...&category0=

The kits you buy on Ebay even come with external molex connector (The standard white power plug PC's use) power supply so you don't have to open your computer at all if paired with the stand alone connectivity kit. (Which is probably what is connected to the power connection on the DVDrom adapter shown in these pics. Of course, there's no mention of that anywhere...

Team Xecuter bring a user friendly spin on modding for those afraid to get their hands wet, but this product is all about the fancy package. No benefit on the "name brand" here folks.

Seems like an awesome tool, im very much loving it. The only thing im not loving is the price here in scandinavia. It will cost me more than 82 USD if i buy it here sad.gif While in america it only costs 44.95$. And even if i order if from .us, i will have to pay 25% tax pluss 30$ for getting it through customs so thats like 86$. I wish the price here in scandinavia was abit less than 82 us $ cause its alot of money......
If it had cost 44.95$ here i would have bought it right now.

Prices taken from divieno .us and divineo sweden.

Other than that, great tool indeed, but ill take my box to my friends (who has a supported s-ata chipset) house for now since its alot cheaper smile.gif

Unlike 99% of USB->SATA adapters this one has a programmable firmware and so as new XBOX 360 ODD drives come out it can be updated to counter act whatever devilish new scheme they have come up with.

So um, what exactly does this thing do? I have noticed a lot of the XBOX360 products now list lots of features and pictures, but neglect the simple one sentence explanation of what the damn thing actually does.

I'll go to the site and read up, (so don't bother flaming) but really - basic marketing 101, state clearly what the product does as the first thing in an announcement.
gangrel_1313
I found a similar product (and it is PLug n' Play aswell), for $19.95, so why does the Xecuter cost so much?

http://www.buyextras.com/sahiquusbtos.html <-19.95 USB to ATA/SATA adapter

*EDIT*
Ok, I think Im confused, SATA cable is for the HD, not the DVD Drive right? Whats the cable on the back of the xbox 360's DVD Drive called (not the power cable, the other one).
MC2829
XSATA is only $30... why waste $15 more on this??? blink.gif

Hi. I'm a complete noob in the modding scene, so i just have a few simple questions that for shure are very easy for you guys to answer.

What is the differences between this product and the Xsata? http://www.play.com/Games/Xbox360/RTS/3-/1...ta/Product.html

I need a device that lets me connect my xbox360 to my PC/laptop. I will use it mainly to copy options files from games and for storing demos and stuff in the PC.
My 360 has an Hitachi drive which is the one that works with this Xecuter X360 USB, right?
But i don't know if i'll mood the firmware DVD drive, cause i'm afraid of being banned from XBL, or is it save?

So, does the Xecuter X360 USB let me transfer stuff to my PC and option files from my PC to the 360?
But as the Xsata already does that, what more can i get from the Xecuter X360 USB?

Thank you

Yes, you have the right DVD Drive, infact Hitachi is the only drive this will work for at the moment, as far as transfering stuff to the PC or viceversa, I dont know, I thought it was just for flashing the firmware on the DVD drive. The SATA connector kit that comes with it you can I beleive.

I just looked at that XSATA thing, and its pretty cool looking and stuff, but the difference is this does pretty much everything, HD & DVD firmware. XSATA just lets you in the HD I think.

QUOTE

The XSATA is just hard drive and you have to have the hard drive connected to the XBOX360 when accessing, which can be a pain if your computer is no-where near your PC.

The X360USB does the same as the the XSATA (kinda) AND it allows you to access the DVD-ROM drives for ripping and flash upgrading.

QUOTE

The X360USB contains a connectivity kit. A power supply adapter / Modeb enabler for the DVD drive and it includes a power adapter and SATA adapter for XBOX360 hard drive enclosures.

Also the X360USB is 100% programmable and updatable which means it could get updates to support security features of newer hard drives and DVD-Drives as they are released, no other USB->SATA adapter is going to offer this.
thisempty
Would this product allow to flash the firmware and play pirated games offline and then reflash with the original firmware when i want to play original games on XBL?
If yes, would it be a simple procedure to make?

Basically, are there any benefits with this product for a person that plays online 80% of the time?

anychance these are gonna burn out too cos the first drive adapters i got 2 of burnt out after doing just a couple of drives taking out a drive each with them and it happened once to my friend.

the cost of using those adapters was insane for us lets hope this thing doesnt do the same.

I don't believe there is a standard, you'll just have to buy one and see what you get. No matter which drive you get, there are options for modding it.

Should be very easy, but since none of us have one yet...
devilstrider
So does this switch the drive to mode b automactilly?
X-Staff
I'll make this as easy as possible and will try not to be pompous laugh.gif

X360 USB is as follows

1. A custom made Sata to USB convertor that is specifically designed for the Xbox 360. Sure you can get other devices but those devices are not designed for this very specific purpose.

2. It comes with the new connectivity kit (v2). Better designed and noob proof. The amount of blown v1's I saw from people shorting out the pcb or plugging in the cables the wrong way around just amazed me, although shouldn't have surprised me with the experience I have in this market. With this design you can't break it (although SOMEONE will try of course - they always do). We also updated all the connectors so we would hope cables are now plugged in the correct way around (even tho v1 had cuides to show the correct way) and there is also now an on/off power switch - so you can hot swap drives while connected to USB and in Windows. Of course modeb and eject are still there too. Version 1 Connectivity Kit on its own sells for $24 - $30 on other websites

3. It comes with a newly design HDD adapter (like X-Sata function) - again this sells for $20 - $30 ON ITS OWN by other websites.

4. Its quality. It works. It does the job as advertised. There is absolutley no research involved or hit and miss with other products. I see a few people saying "whats the point in buying this etc" - well for that person - no point at all - but i deal in business and where there is 10,000 who has no need there is always 100,000 that do have a need. If you dont need it - good for you and congrats on your modding. if you do need it then you will have certainley got your moneys worth

All other details on what this product does is listed very very clearly on its product description. If you are going to bitch at me saying you dont have time to research the product then there's not a lot I can say to that.

I hope this helps someone

no. you press the modeb button.

some ppl may use this with a samsung drive (without the usb) and modeb is not required

from plugging in the drive to usb and flashing using birdys flasher - id say 10 seconds tops

The Xsata is for connecting your Xbox 360 Hard Drive to your PC. Thats it.

My post above explains everything else X360 USB does.

QUOTE(wmxp @ Sep 3 2006, 07:03 AM) *

Its not a fraction of the price when you consider we also supply a device that does the same as Xsata ($30 value) and also the Connectivity Kit V2 (v1 value was $29.95)

Also we designed this to work specifically with the Xbox360 - and we are able to give support for that product in that area - you wont get that with others - with X360 USB you are GUARANTEED it will work and you get the full kit along with it too.

Now I would say its far more appealing. if you don't think so then then good luck anyway smile.gif
