first of all check your firmware...if you have gary opa xtreme it is a few difficult to boot games since you have to get them bitsetted and they must be burned with a pionneer 111D and verbatims for best playback...I have the v47 hitachi so it is safe to flash the birdys WITH geremia mediacheck 2 patch...then it will boot allmost everything...if your hitachi isnt the v57 and for the best it is the v47 or v46 try the firmware listed above...

thanks for the reply pana... um i got my drive flashed about a month ago by a mod shop up the road. im using the pioneer 111 drive as u said and also using verbatims at 2.4x but still no luck i also got a backup game which i know works in my friends drive and it is trying to boot and still coming up with unrecognized disc and to clean it and restart console. does this mean i should update the flash or are hitachi drives just hopeless for backups??? also how do i find out what firmware the drive is flashed with ? thanks for the help

well my friend...hitachis are not hopeless with back ups...my backups work just fine...i flashed my hitachi v47 with birdys(watch my signature) and they work fine like the originals...What u have to do is find out whick firmware you have and resotre it(be carefull with the drive key if you dont have the original firmware file)[maybe you could go back to that store and tell him to restore your drive or update u] and flash it with new firmware...if your drive is v47 or v46 it is safe to flash birdys and mediacheck firmware...if it is the v57 dont do it cause it will brick your drive, try gary opa if so...also...you first have to RESTORE your drive to the original firmware in order to flash a new version...just find out which firmware u have installed...also check if your disc are Bitsetted...download nero CD speed and try Bitsetting your media to DVD-ROM, ensure your media are DVD+R DL
