Is there a burning software that will let me burn at 1x even if my cd-r is 24x because my recordnow max wont let me burn at 1x it will say 1x selected but then it says used 4x.

Nero may let you. But I'm not sure why you would want to burn at 1X. 74 - 80 minutes to burn a CD? No thanks. 4X is more than slow enough to ensure a quality burn.
Well Im backing up an ISO image and would just like to burn it as low as I can because I had some problems burning at 4x sony media cd-r wouldnt boot sometimes so I would like to get it down to atleast 2x

Give Nero a try. I always burn at 24x, and have never had a problem.
you can ONLY burn @1x if your burner supports it !!!
