My problem seems to be not so commen. I am trying to fix a xbox for a friend, and wow did I ask for it.[b]
First off the xbox had a sharp clicking sound from the no responsive OEM HDD. Not cool!
XBOX NEEDS SERVICE!!!!
Then I installed a Matrix chip with an Xecuter2 bios, along with a 15GB HDD. Just to see what would happen.
I got the XBOX loading screen with Xecuter2 under it. Then I get your xbox needs service. Agian I was not supprised of the outcome.
Then I tried a few working OEM drives from the same version 1.0 and I got the EVOX mod inside screen. Green Machine!
OK I thought I was on a roll. SO not thinking I put the EVOX auto installer disk in the drive (the disk does load the instlaller) and the disk reads open before I opened the drive and says ejecting when I eject but says eject when the disk is in. MY rom is not talking to the mobo board. Then I try to use the controller and no fun happens. Just clicks from inside the DVDrom drive.
What am I missing?
