Is it possible to play a PAL copy on a NTCS 360 with flashed dvd firmware?
Some games yes. There are many games that are region free so if it is one of those then you can.
I would stick to the region you live in for purchasing games as it takes out the possibility of buying a game you can't use.

It depends on your television too. A PAL signal will not play correctly on a NTSC (US) television and vice versa (or atleast not without a converter to convert the Hz.)

i wouldnt worry about that too much, most tv will happily display both even older ones, even old non-widescreen crt tv's.

I'll have to keep that in mind. Just something that I have always heard but never tried.
Ya... to date I have yet to find a US TV that won't play PAL. Even my 10 year old 27" RCA plays PAL (overscan is terrible though, but that's an entirely different problem).
