hi,

I've been trying to flash my samsung for ages now but always encounter various problems. I have tried loads of different methods and all come with various problems or errors.

I have a dfi infinity nf4 motherboard and the dvd drive is samsung ms25 ver.A, the dvd drive is connected to sata master.


I have tried the following methods:

1) samsung auto flasher V3.0

When i use this the program reads the firmware off the drive fine and patches it but i cant reflash the drive,
It comes up with the following error when i try to flash it:

ERR: FAIL TO OPEN INPUT FILE!

I have put the original firmware into Maximus - 360 FIRMWARE TOOLBOX for Windows Ver 1.0 and it confirms the firmware as being from a samsung ms25 drive.

2) X360SAM

When i put this onto a floppy and select the pc to boot from it i always get the following error:

REMOVE ALL OTHER DISKS
PRESS ANY KEY TO CONTINUE

i have disconnected all other drives but still the same.


If anybody can suggest anything please help!

I've got a couple of tips for you.....

1) Do not use sammy autoflashers. (cos there just bad)

2) Read textbooks tut & use Nf4 MTKflash.

3) Only a m$-dos formated floppy will boot, just chucking a couple of files on it & expecting it to boot will not work.


Read a little more before you risk your 360 with an under researched flash...

thanks bazza007 but know i have another problem

i'm using mtk-nf4 but when i type in a command

mtkflash comes up with somthing along the lines off 170 and then a0, after this nothing happens
