As promissed... cool.gif

Hi, first let me say to all on this board and thx to the Mame Team and the persons who did this ports happy.gif
Since i dont see any compability list on the web for MAME-X, i decided to start one, mainly to help some people out, to help the developer track some bugs and games not working, or even to encourage other people to do the same and help with this stuff 0_o

I tried only loading the games in question, and play a little, so sorry about possible bugs in the middle of the games etc.

No problems related to the original Mame source will be tracked by me, aka System 16, bugs of sound and others in the original, etc etc.

On this Emu, sometimes its a good idea to try to load a game first right after you boot the program, because some games wont boot after loading others first.

At this moment MAMEox offer better compability, play more stuff without crashing and is continuosly being updated, but for the ones still wanting to play with MAME-X one, here it is:

Blue - Works
Purple -Works but has issues
Red - Don't Work

MAME-X B6
The sound and speed is good, but many games dont load or simply crash the Xbox. Since is based on Mame 61 Core, System 16 games like Golden Axe and others still have good sound here because later versions of Windows Mame broke that. And because is an older core, Mame now is like on the 0.72 version, people must keep in mind that some of the new rom versions of Mame may not play if you updated them after 0-61 core.

In this emulator i really give you the advice to know well what you are gonna play for awhile in first place because it tends to crash if you try to load some games after anothers
And Neo Geo CPS2 better load them in the respective menu on the emulator (press B for that)

Old Williams games (Defender, Joust, Bubbles, Robotron, etc) do in fact work. When it hangs after the first time you load it (on the factory settings restored screen), you need to cause the machine to reset. I don't remember the default keymapping to reset it, but it is configurable from the in game menu, and for that matter you can reset the game from that menu.

Just a thought, but if you're serious about maintaining this kind of list, perhaps you should combine the MAMEoX and Mame-X lists into one in the same manner the PCSX list has both HLE and Bios results combined. This way people would know at a glance which one plays which games.

Enkak
Ok, many thx on the williams games.

Thx for the suggestion, i will try to do that later happy.gif

Does anyone knows if Dungeon&Dragon: Tower of Doom and Shadow over Mistra (correct name ?) works ?
hosh
Why are you guys still bothering with MAME-X? MAMEoX is everything it was and about 100 times more... Much better compatability and GUI, etc.

The D&D games run perfectly in FBAX, haven't tried them in either MAME.

how come the compatibility list is so small? i have like 2000 mame games........

I guess there is no hope of Killer Instinct ever running on XBox Mame due to the 91.19 MB Hard Drive file that goes along with the ROM's?

You have answered your own question, wink.gif One person, even with an insignificant life would not want to test every ROM, Chip in and test the ones not listed if you have the full MAME archive.

hi
i have the latest version and i dont see any roms even when i push b it does nothing
so far i have neogeo zinc and cps2 roms it should show up right?
kvajnto
For neo-geo, use kawa-x. For cps-2, use fbax or kawa-x. I don't think zinc games are playable yet.

Doesn't really answer you question on why they don't show up though. =)

what about this?

does is support impact?
mr jones
Zasadar - with the recent releases of Mameox, Final Burn Alpha X, and Kawa-X, Mame-X has been made more or less obselete. With only a few exceptions, MameoX can play all of the games that Mame-X does, as well as some others that Mame-X can't. While it might have some preliminary Impact or Zinc drivers in it, you'd have to edit and recompile the source code to Mame-X to be able to use them.

Long story short, As of right now, there isn't really any emulator that runs games that would play on Zinc or Impact on the Xbox.

How about marvel vs capcom ?
one of my all time favorites.
Pozer360
ok first off.... get Mame-ox with better light gun support. I can get almost every game that matters to work ( i.e. street fighter alpha 3, x-men vs street fighter, all legal metal slugs, punisher, last blade 1 & 2 and pretty much every other one (no Killer instinct though besides we already have U-64 which works great) so whats the point in getting mame-x if mame-ox runs them better. I am using mame-ox .84b (with better light gun support) with newest roms. works great.

just food for thought

beerchug.gif

oh yeah one more thing... i use to use fba-xxx but it wouldn't load a lot of the games and i know people swear fba-xxx plays neo-geo games better but in all honesty its the same thing. so now i just use mame-ox
tumkhan
there should be an update for this list , cause unworked roms are working now as last blade last blade 2 even kof 2003

Mame-x is LONG out dated. So almost no one uses it anymore. Switch to Mameox. There is no reason to revive this old thread.

It's still handy for a few roms that don't quite work as well on Mameox. I still use Mamex for Mortal Kombat 1 and 2 because the slowdown isn't as bad and a few other titles, but otherwise it is dead.

Is there a MAMEdOX compatibility list? Cos I cant even play Paperboy on MAMEdOX, the rom is there but it doesn't show up on the list? Loads of other roms dont show up either like super sprite etc...
