Since all the cool kids are doing it and ive been thinkin about it for a little while now, heres the third gears of war themed box in 2 days.

I expect to be flamed for not finishing my other projects yet, but 360's are so much more fun

im not going to release all the details on my plans, but heres a couple pics of the proposed and initial.

I must mentin that iknow everything isnt straght and accurate, using the grafiti logo, which is all exact.
And im looking on ideas for the lighting and paint.

im thinking of white lighting with a combination of 2 of these colours

red
gray
black

comments and suggestions always wlecome.

a good start no doubt. What about red lighting with a grunged-up black and red paint scheme similar to the official site? either way, i'm sure it will look excellent and should complement your umbrella box quite nicely

but personally... gears of war is being used too much lately.
i have seen at least 6 gears of war cases this week

thanks for the positive words guys. Ive done a bunch of sanding. im really not happy with the teeth, they make it look very cartoony. Im going to have to do something about that.

Alternativly i was thinkng about etching the skull detals into the plexi..hmmm.

yeah cause I was going to say that the skull face and details looked like a pumpking i made by myself when I was 10 years old

If your going to etch it let me know. I know a great laser engraving company. It looks great.

Is it possible to get red-colored plexyglass?

That window would look PIMP if the background color was red (so that you wouldnt need led lighting to get the bloody gears effect).

Hell yeah you can get red colored plexi. There is a shop right by my house that has all kinds of different colors.

small update.

ive decided to totally redo the teeth, and wll do so tomorrow.

Ive smoothed off the memory card ports, since they NEVER get used..im looking at a few ideas for utilizing the space but im not sure if there wll be enough room for what i want and may have to end up doing something dfferent. I wont reveal anything yet but pablot might have a slight idea what im planning

oh yeah and i cahnged the ROFL to white..exciting stuff.

sounds interesting. with you I would guess something involving leds, possibly a vu meter. naaah not quite right for the front panel. maybe a small lcd (of the same type as xlcd's, that is). still i would guess some sort of window with frosted plexi and fading or flashing leds behind.

I think you should paint the skull and sprocket on the power button...just a suggestion.

ok i done a bunch of work on it.im not totally happy with the teeth but they are getting better. I shot some red primer over to to make it look better. Please feel free to criticise

Yea I think that looks alot better. It actually looks evil and scary and not cartoony like the other one did.

Worry not peoples this project i still very much alive, i just cant be bothered with the full WIP thing this time round, I will be buying paint after my work 2morrow and hopefully painting over the weekend.

The hdd has been smoothed and i will be keeping it this way because i cant decide on what to do wth it, it looks nice smooth

Ive been toying with the idea of not completely prepping the case, but instead giving it a once over with a course sandpaper so that when i paint you can see the scratches and it gives it that grungy look.

Also been thinking about laying some grey spatters over the black, just to mess it up a little.

worry not mr grim compressors here are only 100 dollars america for a nice 100lb compressor. Im not sure what you have over in the UK but try places such as LOWES or home depot.
