I've used xboxhdm successfully many times before.

On this Xbox however, things aren't going so well.

It's already modded, so I do a backup, get the eeprom off there, stick it in the xboxhdm folder, burn that, format and lock my new HDD using the eeprom and stick it into the Xbox with hopes that it'll work, but it won't and just gives me an error 06, which means that it can't unlock the drive. I tried it twice to no avail.

Because of the error 06, I think it's an eeprom issue, but I can't think of any solution. Hell, I haven't the slightest idea of why it won't work.

Are you sure that the drive is locked? Try using ATAPWD to determine the status of the drive. If it has a plus sign next to frozen, try turning off the auto detection on the primary master channel in the BIOS (assuming this is where your hard drive is plugged into, or if that doesnt work, wait for XboxHDM to boot to the first menu, then plug in the drive and try to lock it.

Err06, drive cannot be unlocked. But, is it chipped or softmod?

Comadaunt Flufkins, if it wasn't locked, I'd get an error 05.

JrracinFan8, it's a softmod. For my previous softmods, I get the eeprom, lock the HDD to the new Xbox and put MS dash on there, then continue my softmodding from there.

Eh, if this gets me nowhere, I suppose I'll just put it up for sale.

did u make sure that ur eeprom was changed from "eeprom" to "eeprom.bin" before you burnt the disc and make sure its locked using atapwd

Are you sure you have the correct eeprom.bin file for this xbox? Sounds like the drive is locking correctly but doesn't sound like it's the right key.
