I've gone through 3 X-boxes now. One exploded, one got shit spilt on it, and this one just stopped turning on.
I got sick of making the $200 purchase, and got a refurbed one from eB. Any ideas what I can do to prevent from having to buy another one?
This one didnt make any noises, no smells, or anything. It just shut off and never turned back on.
And like I said, its refurbed, so I dont have an accurate v#.

Is it completely dead no power at all, does it frag, is it in a coma (solid green no audio or video). does the ring of light come on at all. You will have to open the case and figure out the version.

There is no power at all. I plug the power cord in, and I press the power button, and it is dead.
And I'm looking inside of it right now and seeing nothing comparitive to a version number.
Edit - I have a v1.0

Check your power cord, and the power supply fuse.

Aight, I plugged two cords into it. No results. The re-issued cord popped when tested.
My main problem now is that I can't seem to find the fuse to check it.

Check the tutorials section on the X-S main page. Just search for fuse replacement.
Fairly easy to do... but you can at least test the fuse first with a cheap multimeter, or something else that tests for continuity.

Thanks, this should be fairly easy since my pops is a electrician. I just wanted to make sure that I knew what was wrong before I had him trolly through.
