For some reason if I try and extract the SS from one of my games I am trying to backup I get an error saying ( this is not a valid security sector ) Does not matter what disk I try every game says the same thing.

The thing is that games I have backup up before with no problem now gives me this error when I try and extract the security sector. I tried using the newest Xbox Backup Creator and even the old way of doing it with DVDInfoPro and still no go.

My drive still plays backups I already created, but it now refuses to let me backup any more games.

Any ideas?

I just tried backing up using another Xbox and as before I still can’t extract the security sector. I can still backup the game but it does not work because of it always saying invalid security sector.

2 different boxes with 4.1 flashed Samsungs same PC and same problem. I am down to it being my PC that is fudged up somehow. Same PC and same Xbox used to backup games just fine reading SS from disks before this.

The thing is PC works perfectly except for this. It a dual core AMD with a DFI Lanparty mobo running X64pro.

Not that anyone cares but, I formatted and it fixed the problem. I can now extract the security sector like I used to.

PC was giving me no issues at all. Crazy but a format worked.

always good to have a solution to a potential problem.
even though formatting is an extreme measure.

i personally would try everything before doing something like that, but then again, if you have a good image of your disk, its a simple step to getting your system back to where it was when it worked properly.

I spent the last week trouble shooting every aspect of the problem. It made no sence to me why formating a perfectly good running os would fix the problem but it was the only aspect that I had yet to try.
