Hello, I got a xbox from a friend since he thought that it didn't work properly but it does, with some patience. The power button simply doesn't work and the xbox is constaly stuck as on - with the exception if we pull the plug. smile.gif

I've been opening the xbox, to see if there is a quick way to fix this problem but after having taken both the dvd and harddrive out, I simply figured out it seems to be out of my reach to fix.

Have anyone had this problem before and if yes, how is the easiest way to fix it?

check the resistors where your yellow cable from the power button goes into the motherboard.
most of the time these are damaged and thats why your xbox wont turn off.

OK - so one of those resistors is bad... how do you go about fixing it/replacing it?

Thanks!
