This is what Venom will probably look like in the new Spidey filck. At first, I thought it looked a little too "human," but then I took a better look at the sketched picture and noticed that his jaw is extended, so all hope's not lost. IPB Image I wish that douchebag site (yodanews.com) hadn't ruined the images with their stupid watermark, though.

Here's a mock poster (I think) that I thought you guys would enjoy.

Im REALLY hoping that changes because I just want a Venom that looks like its comic counterpart, like how Raimi said that it would.
But im not saying that those designs are bad, I just want my comic book version. tongue.gif

that just made my day laugh.gif

I knew you'd get a kick out of it. biggrin.gif

I just thought of a possible reason why the symbiote costumes are to appear with webbing in the film versus the slick originals: because the webbing helps to hide the zipper on the back of the costume. Sure it can be removed in post, but that's my guess. unsure.gif

You think a multimillion dollar budget film would have costumes with exposed zippers?

The new trailer is up on iFilm.

It looks like there'll be more action in this one than in the first movie. There's no sign of Venom, however. I don't think we'll get to see him until the last 10 minutes of the movie anyway. I used to think Dunst looked hideous before, but in this trailer, she looks like Death got ahold of her. Really, I cringed when I saw her. Hide your children. laugh.gif

Not exactly a spoiler because it's in the trailer, but Sandman is now scripted as Uncle Ben's killer. It might just be a plot device to frame Sandman, but who knows?

rolleyes.gif I never said the zipper would be exposed. I said the webbing would hide it. It'd be much easier for the audience to not notice a zipper under that webbing and believe it's a living costume than it would be if it was a slick black costume with the hint of a seam.

Besides, the money spent on these types of movies doesn't eliminate "lazy producing." Look at the countless mistakes in the first two films. The one that stood out for me in the first one was when Spidey's swinging with MJ towards the right of the screen (Spidey facing right; MJ facing left) and MJ's hair is blowing to the right. I know it's a stupid thing to gripe about considering the lead character can shoot webs from his wrists, but you can only suspend disbelief for so long before reality slaps you right in the face. *smack* laugh.gif

Here's a better movie Venom:

but yeah, thats only a fan render of venom. hell, one hand has 4 fingers and the other has 5 laugh.gif
and right now, im not caring about MJ since Gwen will be in it. happy.gif
metaldevil
It is? Bummer, I thought it was an official render.
Himura
Well the Comic-Con trailer has been posted on Super Hero Hype. Still has all the old footage with unfinished CGI. Shows Venom though happy.gif

Is wolverine in that movie or did I miss something?

lol
Im guessing that those are one of the Goblin's gadgets.
metaldevil
It could also be Mysterio. I just don't see how they plan to use four villains. unsure.gif I'm assuming the symbiote part will be similar to the 90s cartoon.
metaldevil
The video was taken down at Sony's behest. laugh.gif

So far, Sandman is about the best looking character from what i've seen in the video clips. Venom is supposed to be a bulky, muscle bound anti hero, but Topher Grace? The kid is scrawny as hell.
Himura
In the Ultimate series Eddie Brock is just as nerdy as Peter...sorta. smile.gif
Hell, hes even skinnier than him

Well, i just stumbled on this a couple of minutes ago... Venom Costume.

makaveli91
Yeah sorry about that, I looked quickly for the spiderman 3 thread. I knew there was one.

Eddie Brock may be just as skinny as Peter, but when he's venom he isn't scrawny as hell...
Himura
but who knows, it might actually work well in live action. i know im being optimistic, but Sam Raimi has yet to let me down... aside from the natural creation of webbing as a power of course biggrin.gif
metaldevil
I hope the big spider on both symbiote costumes stand out more than just the metallic-looking webbing surrounding it.

GG's costume was laughable, although the original costume would have been ridiculous. Doc Ock looked phenomenal. Sandman looks terrific, but the Venom costume looks like an afterthought to me. Just 4 months left. happy.gif
