Folks,

I upgraded my HDD recently and tried to pop in NBA 2k7... it booted fine, the VC Splash screen popped up, and then it went to black and stayed there. (Numerous times.) I didn't have time to try other games, but my gut is saying that it will happen to other games at random times.

Anyone know if this is a cache, bios, hdd, ______, issue? It's a softmodded xbox, and the old hdd took a poop. Any insight would be great.

Thanks

P.S. This is one of the best forum communities I know of. Everyone helps everyone. Kudos.

If you are using a krayzie ndure softmod you may have the wrong fonts specified for your kernel, this would cause your xbox to hang at startup from time to time. If you can get it to boot with no game inserted find out the kernel version you have by going into your MS dash and selecting system/info and wait for it to scroll to a set of numbers next to the letter 'k'... this number is your kernel. Next boot up your exploit gamesave and go to specify fonts and choose your kernel.

Or you could just try another game

Okay, but I used itools evox and splinter cell to do mine... other games just hang at the xbox screen... no dash, nothing... it just hangs. Any thoughts?

does splintercell hang? if not just cold boot it then load your exploit game save and reinstall the mod. If it doesn't you may have to format and rebuild your hdd. If you're missing some important files (ie the game save) and nothing will boot then there is no other way that i know of.

Good luck

Turns out it was a cache thing. I FTP'd and deleted the .bin files in the cache and replaced them with some that I had on back up... bingo bango, worked like a charm! Thanks for you input though. Cheers!
