i finally managed to get my samsung flashed using xtreme bootmaker and the 4.2a version of xtreme fw.
all seemed to go well it now plays my older backups (have a hitachi drive as well) but when i load new burns like fifa 07 i get a message this game needs updates to play blah blah blah ..any ideas what i done wrong?
(the new titles work on the hitachi)

The X360 needs to update in order to play the game. Nothing wrong with the FW haha. I run updates all the time for most of my games. I'm not sure how it works for X360's without a harddrive though, you might have to press update everytime you play the game.

no mate you misunderstand it doesnt actually need updating its just one of those crazy messages.screen actually freezes and yes i have a hd and xboxlive access so any other ideas?

crisis over folks the flash was ok reason i couldnt update turns out the 20gb hd was faulty, returned to store got new and now its all A ok
