I still love Slayers, great disc.

This is not something I was expecting an update for, but cool nonetheless.

I was just thinking about this the other day. I was like "I remember them announcing they would do an update, but I guess they didn't go through with it, it takes a lot of time."

I've always used it for its ability to format, flash bioses, and great for getting those C files back. Other than that, the apps get old very quickly. Great for people who just want to be up and running though in a flash.

I'm not seeing this in the usual places yet though.

Go to their irc channel and you'll be provided direct download links for the auto installer. It shouldn't be a problem for those who know how to use irc.

love the installer. I know some of you here think its dumb but... the best part is its easy and you can also change what you dont like after it formats the hd

Before I start this post, I do wish to congratulate Slayer on releasing another version of his installer, as I know that he wasn't exactly planning on making this to begin with. However, I do have some issues to bring up.

I warn people NOT to do any flashing with this installer, unless you are 100% sure that your BIOS or TSOP is a 256k bank. Why? Because this Auto-Installer has not taken into consideration that BIOS banks and TSOPs are different sizes. So, if you try and use this to flash your BIOS and TSOP, and it isnt a 256k bank, you're screwed. And there's no other options for different sized banks. The only exclusion is ofcourse the X3 BIOS, but this can only go on X3 chips.

Also, it's very strange how there is no softmod support, considering Slayer did write a softmod system at one stage (only written for 007AUF if I remember correctly), and a lot more people are using softmods now. For those people saying it "cluuters up the CD" that couldn't be further from the truth. It takes next to hardly any more space to add softmodding support in an Auto-Installer, and I know this from experience.

My v1.6 xbox used Slayer 2.6 as the installer. I still use the Slayer Evox and all, so I was wondering if I could stick the Slayer 2.7 DVD in the Xbox and have an option where I could upgrade to version 2.7 so I could take advantage of the new feature allowing u to change ur default dash to something other than Evox?

CASH is built pretty much the same as Slayers but is for softmods only.

i have used this cd to try to get rid of my softmod and restore my original M$ Dash...problem is when i rebooted my xbox i got a evo-x dash but only to options...Launch CD or System Settings....PLEASE HELP...no matter what i do it still loads this...i have even manually deleted my entire xbox and put the files in manually from the slayers 2.6 AND 2.7 C drive and e drive and it still loads this screen....i cannot seem to figure out yy and may i ask PLEASE HELP is there anythign i can do?? thank you

Slayers isn't made for softmods. The reason your getting that recovery dash is you have Krayzies Ndure (which has protection to keep it from being wiped) on there and your trying to wipe it, which Slayers WILL NOT DO. You can use CASH v1.1 to get it off, there is a section of the manual that covers removing the softmod, you can follow that and it will work just fine. I would say you could also restore from the HDD backup, but you may have screwed that up when you tried to wipe it (some stuff will get wiped in the format, but it leaves enough to give you that recovery dash at least). Just follow the instructions in the CASH manual and you'll be fine.

OMFG haha THANK YOU like this is prob the 5th xbox i softmodded haha and i have went through trouble and went in manually and did stuff like put the MS dash after it got deleted and everythingg but this 1 was just pissin me off and i never got it be4 but im back 2 stock and i will like 2 thank you very muchh...

Sorry if this is newbish, but can this fix my MS DASH? For some reason it stopped working recently, I have had my xbox modded since like 03 and played halo2 online with it a long time, but now when I try to just load the dash with no game in it, it messes up.

Will this work?

Much props to the Slayers team for the new release. As a former team member its nice to hear such a great installer is still the best around.

If anybody has noticed when you use slayers... atleast if you want to change your default dash. It installs and th at nonsense but once you cold boot your xbox from that point on, you have "slayer's 2.7" where the original microsoft logo should go. I found it to be located in the dash itself. (originally thought it was in my XBMC folder cuz that's what i had my xbox boot to). But anyways, it's somewhere in the .xbe. Does anybody know how to change this? I'd really like to know how to change it. Not so much delete it, but change it.

howdy, obviously a noob to all this xbox malarky as only jus bought an xbox the other day (not chipped or modded), already learnt a few things, e.g link pc n xbox thru crossover cable etc (with mates chipped xbox, not mine). but was jus wondering if you can actually install the SlaYer's EvoX Auto-Installer v2.7 with out gettin ya xbox chipped?

Of course not.

A chip or softmod is needed to run unsigned code. And if you're installing a softmod, you don't use/need Slayer's to being with.

Hi, would somebody please help to tell me about the slayer 2.7 installation? I have the cd rw boot slayer, crossover cable, Duo blue on the virgin(no hack dash/soft mod at all) Hdd.
My question is:
1. About the #2 on PRE STEP (back up to pc) installation, how can I Ftp while there is no dash on my retail Hdd?
2. I want to replace my retail/old Hdd with the larger Hdd(80-120 gig); Can I just pull the old hd, put the new hd, boot the slayer, click the new install HD(also I confused which step #s I should to click #3/#4) then DONE. (it seem a simple thing for the mod masters but NOT at all for me)
Someday when I put my old/virgin Hd back, will it back in the same state like before w/ the problem?
I really need help for this I am stuck in this step for about 4 days already.
Any help please???????

I am new to the whole modding of the xbox thing. So please help! I've recently installed a nex Xecuter CE chip in my XBOX and upgraded it with bios 3.0.3. Now I need a dashboard. How can I obtain "Slayer's EvoX Auto-installer v2.7 and how do I get it installed on my XBOX?

What you need to get it is on Xbins. There is a guide to Xbins in my sig.

I tried using "mirc" but it kicked me out and banned me because more than 30 files tried to download in one day. Now i denies me access. Are there any other options?

I have a xbox with xecuter2, while i tried to make my xbmc dashboard, i made a big mistake. because my xbox now only starts in the original msdashboard. can anyone please tell me what to do now. i have a hd in the xbox, did i loose my files now? i am a totall noob who went to far i guess. i appreciate any help, thanx guys

Boot to a boot disc (like slayers) and you should be able to fix what you screwed up with FTP.
