hey guys im hopin someone can help. yesterday i went to go play halo2 and it says that i have been permanently banned. now before you all say cry somewhere else or reap the consequences just read on for a sec. i have never once modded a game. never end of story. i only own a 360 which ive heard cant even be modded in the first place. i dont play with any modders either. about a week ago i got an invite to a custom game which i found out was being modded so i quit out. is this why im being banned? how do i go about reactivating my account. i cant find a phone number or email or anything and xbox live customer service has no idea. they told me several times to just purchase another account. no thanks im not spending another $50 when i did nothing wrong in the first place. i spent about 4 hrs or so on the phone with xbox live customer service. if any one has any helpfull ideas how im supposed to go about getting my account reactivated please post it. also lets not post all the crap about well obviously you modded and such. thats the only replies ive gotten on the forums and they are not helpfull. i have NOT modded at all so keep that in mind if you decide to reply to this. thanks again

wtf my roomates profile is on my system as well and he got banned too. is it the new system up date or something? what gives?

Are a total dink when u play at all? perhaps you by some fluke chance lipped off a bungie staff member that u played against or something.. ?

Also i've heard of people getting banned for no apparent reason after switching from an original xbox to a 360, did you just switch?

nope didnt switch ive had the tag only on a 360 but my roomate moved his profile from an xbox to my 360.

That might have something to do with it then, its not the first time ive seen innocent people get permantly banned, try searching around with that in mind, maybe xbox.com has something about it?

lol microsoft customer service is useless. ive spent about 4hrs reading bungies website, another 3 or so on xbox.com and somewhere around 10hrs on the phone with microsoft and have gotten absolutely nowhere. no one knows how to get in touch with bungie or anything. customer service says i can just got buy another account. well thats real helpfull at $50 a pop.

same thing happend to me. i come back from school one day, launch team training with my friend. says im permanently banned from halo 2 matchmaking. it was pretty embrassing as my friend saw this.

anyone have any advice on how I can get back on matchmaking without buying a new xbox?

i'm willing to buy another account and/or another EEPROM

that reminds me: I read a guide on how you can get unbanned from xbox live by buying an unused EEPROM for some 10$ but if I buy it, will it unban me from halo 2 matchmaking as well if I get a new account too?

Serge321 I think your confused with a Halo2 matchmaking ban and an outright xbox live ban.

Your only banned from halo2 matchmaking for whatever reason, and thus, only need a new gamertag.
Your not banned from xbox live so don't need to worry about eeprom/new xbox's etc.

Im not confused and indeed talking about halo2 matchmaking ban but i appreciate your concern

How do you get a new gamertag?

umm i dunno, thers many ways i guess.. I usually pick up two month trials off of ebay when the price is right.
