Please help me flash my X360

My Drive is Hitachi 47DJ
I bought the X360 with the current firmware allready installed.
Current firmware version is :-GaryOPA - Xtreme v1.2 firmware - Hitachi 6in1 - v32 / v36 / v40 / v46 / v47 /v59
I want to flash it with :-Maximus-Garyopa_XTRM-HITACHI_v2_3_Stealth_Rev2
I have a xecuter connectivity kit to flash the new firmware with, and ive bought a sata3112 host controller
card (silicon Image)
Im having trouble with the drive showing up in windows explorer so i have a drive letter to flash.
Ive unpluged all ide drives (dvd drives)
My bios is set to non raid.
I only have 1 other sata hdd pluged in (on the mobo sata slot1)
I have a blue and red light on my connect kit
In Device manager it shows up as HL-DT-ST DVD-ROM GDR3120L SCSI Cdrom Device and says this device

is working properly.
Ive tried disk management in windows to give it a drive letter but its not there.
I know the sata card is working because ive had a hdd pluged into it and it works fine.

Has anybody got any tips/sugestions to help me out please?
Am i missing somethig out?
Ive read the forums for help but no luck, thats why ive been informitive as possible about my setup
my mobo is a asrock 775v88

Disable any virtual drives you may have running (Daemon tools etc).

When I done my mates 47dj I had trouble getting the drive into modeB. The slax disc didn't work so I had to use the cross wire trick to get it seen.

What method had you been using or does the connectivity kit do that for you?

If your've got sata connectivity why don't you just plug it stright into that instead?

The connectivity kit puts the drive into mode "B"
only some sata chip-sets will see the x360 dvd drive
