I have tried both my Plextor 760A and my sonyDRU-700a with IMGBURN, CLONECD, and XBC to write the images and the write speed will not go over 0.5x, it takes about 3 - 4 hours to burn.

The backups work but what would cause such a low burn speed? I am using Verbatim DVD+RDL upto 6X, I am have tried 2.4x on the sony (all it supports) and 2.4X - 6x on the Plextor.

Any Ideas or info would be great.

What are the jumper settings on the drives? Have you checked to make sure the DMA was enabled? When was the last time you updated your firmware?

OK I Have 2 Primary and 2 secondary IDE Channels, how do I know which one my DVD drives are on?

Below is what I see in the device manager

My guess is the DVD drives must be on the one PIO mode but I cant change it to DMA, I read that if I uninstall the IDE channels that windows would re install them next boot and it would be good, but that did not work.

My burner is set to master and the samsung is set to slave.

Any help would be great.

The plextor is brand new and the firmware is upto date,
The samsung is running 0.81

I got it sorted, I still Hadthe sata port enabled in my bios setup from when I flashed my xbox drive, When I disabled it, I went back to have only a 1 Primary and secondary IDE channel, and every thing went back to DMA, so its all cool.
