Full Version: Networking Guide?

has anyone on this forum wrote a networking guide outlining possible troubleshooting for the 360? i cant find a useful one, the microsuck ones, well, suck. ive tried everything and cant get my computer and xbox to see each other. worked fine before i switched routers and to wmp11, wont work now (new router is suppose to be more compatible). opened all ports, plays xbox live fine, but i cant get either machine to find one another...

What exactly are you trying to do between the two systems?

As far as I know the Pc needs to be running Windows Media Center, are you?

Make sure your 360 is turned on, then enable the sharing feature in WMP 11. IIRC, that's how I got it to work when I upgraded to WMP 11.

I don't know of any guides (off the top of my head) for that...look in the pinned topics in the 360 Multimedia forum and the 360 Software forum. Might be one there.

Nah, it doesnt'. Just needs XP with SP2 and either WMP 11 or Windows Media Connect to stream music, pics, and WMV.

Can't you only stream video from Media Center? I thought WMP11 and Media Connect can only stream music and pics............

With the most recent update (10/31) we can now stream WMV without Media Center smile.gif .
