I am running Avalaunch v.49.1 and I am trying to enable the 720p mode. Whenever I try to do this via the settings mode in avalaunch, it says "will not write to eeprom with the HDD locked". So how should I change these modes? I have a v1.0 xbox that is softmoded with a 250gb hard drive. Thanks in advance for any help guys.

First, make sure you have the high-def av-pack (component cables), without this you cannot use any high-def modes. Then you need to set the modes your tv supports in the ms dash. When you reboot your xbox to avalaunch, it should be in the highest definition mode you enabled.

I am using Avalaunch as the default dashboard for a soft modded XBOX (1.6) using a X2VGA+ connector to a LCD projector. I have the $MS dash set to high def but still get the XBOX starting up with Avaluanch in low res all cropped.

Is there a way I can start up in a higher resolution?
