Xecuter 360 Connectivity Kit Contest Part2 - Winners
Posted by XanTium | November 10 20:06 EST

Here are the winners of the 2nd part of the Team Xecuter and Xbox-Scene.com Xecuter 360 Connectivity Kit Contest.

Picking the winners was extremely easy this time ... as we got 25 prizes and 25 submissions that followed the main rules. It was also never so easy to win a prize on xbox-scene, you just had to make a quick 20sec video about X-Scene and/or Xecuter and submit it to us. Anyway too late now ... congratulations to the 25 that did the effort to participate :-)
These are the (forum) nicknames of the 25 winners and their respective ~20sec video (in no particular order):
Peempz (video), Textbook (video), Technoside2 (video), rocky5 (video), Xplic1T (video), yardguy00 (video), dr34m3r (video), terezin (video), Akoto (video), StealthBlade (video), edleob (video), Bjodom (video), ramzi22 (video), Wolf12886 (video), travis134sg (video), deadparrot (video), Blackbolt (video), ShadowOryan (video), morasco (video), thompa89 (video), wangerclump (video), schnoid (video), coldshivery (video), Cimlite (video), Jin356b (video)

If you see your nickname listed above PM me (XanTium) on the forums within 14 days with your full shipping address (that includes name and country - many seem to forget these 2) and I'll prepare the package and ship it to you via registred priority airmail. All prizes will be shipped from within the European Union. Prizes are offered by Team Xecuter.

Textbook
Haha, I hope you're joking with the "effect"

It's a real kaboom blink.gif

Empty Xbox 360 shell + empty Xbox 1 Samsung drive shell. Two wires are hooked up to a 9 volt battery, with a model rocket ignitor in the circuit. The ignitor is sitting next to a small Black Cat firecracker. Touch two wires together, completes the circuit, ignitor sparks, and the firecracker lights.

No special effects, just a good half hour of setting it up to poke fun at the "Two-wire bricked my drive!"

I actually fooled some people, which I thought was hilarious. I wasn't trying to make it look real, I mean.. I filmed it in the middle of my garage with no cables plugged in.

PS: You can see the ignitor light the first time, but I pulled my hands away too quick, before it lit the firecracker. I was trying to get my hands out of the way, I didn't know how big the pop would be.

My windows PC with Premier Pro stopped working a couple of days before I entered, so I had to resort to an old laptop which could only handle WMM mad.gif

Thanks guys, this'll go to good use!

was it cut off because of time?

That was probably the best produced one, and Textbooks was the funniest.

Great work by everyone though. cool.gif

Thank you so much Xecuter and Xbox-Scene! I'm looking forward to finally updating my firmware. I'm still using the original Samsung firmware. (no stealth) :-P

Oh, and yup, I used Microsoft's crappy movie maker too. (as if that wasn't obvious enough). I should get honorable mention for worst video ever. ;-)
ShadowOryan
Thanks chorizo1 and yes it was cut off because of time tongue.gif

Thanks - I replied to your PM, but I don't know if you got it...

anyone know if this comes with a tool to open up the 360? I've never opened it myself, and judging by the videos on YouTube, it seems extremely difficult.

Is there a place on xbox-scene where people discuss the connectivity kit? I've read a few things now and I'm kinda confused. Is it true that you do not need a specific sata pci card to modify your firmware if you have the connectivity kit?
Textbook
The kit supplies power to the drive, and can also put Hitachis into ModeB and can also eject your drive. Since the hardest part (for most people) is getting the drive into ModeB, this kit solves that problem. The kit will put the drive into ModeB no matter what, even if the drive is not connected to the computer at all. After the drive is in ModeB, you just need to have SATA that can handle ATAPI devices (CD/DVD Drives) and have the drivers installed. It should show up in Windows no problem, and then you can flash. Nearly all SATA controllers can handle CD/DVD drives, there are only a few SIL-based chipsets that do not.

Also, everybody should download this important safety information concerning the correct use of the kit. Some people were frying their kits and/or drives with these kits. It has nothing to do with the kit itself, but more user error.
XanTium
update ... kits are not shipped yet ... I'm waiting for the 14 days to pass by for winners to give their shipping address. So shipping should be around Nov 25th.
morasco
wtf people still havent given there shipping addresses i suprised, i gave mine the day that the winners were anounced.
thompa89
could you say wich ones you have send to
Textbook
It's monday, are the kits going to be shipped out today or soon? Just looking for an update biggrin.gif

Thanks Xantium!
Peempz
Dude no offense but by the time you send out the xecuter im going to have a xbox 720
morasco
ws just wondering if they will be sent out soon as i would very much like to recieve in time for christmas.
thompa89
update pls
morasco
i think he must of forgot about the competition totaly. ohh well guess we wont get them before christmas now. hopefully in the new year tho
Peempz
Not to sound crazy, but in my opinion we had to deliver the videos before a certain date and put some effort into them to win. Xbox-scene should of taken the effort in sending the connectivity kits out its been how long already 2 months?

We should get something extra for the wait.

wangerclump
Yeah, I'm trying to be patient but its getting hard. If I would have known that it would have taken this long then I would have just bought one in the first place. I'm highly confident that they haven't forgotten about us, I think someones just being lazy. We will get them sooner or later.
travis134sg
You guys are being @$$holes, come on, this is free, generous, give away. We got free stuff for doing something that was fairly simple... And everyone won! They are not lazy and are not forgetful, you do realize how long it takes to individually package, label, and mail 25 packages, right?

They probably have lives outside of Xbox-Scene and that comes first, give them a break already.
Bjodom
I don't think their being mean, they are just simply stating that if they would have known they would have to wait this long for something free, they may have found it more worth it to buy it to get it earlier. But now some have waited and may end up buying now just so they can use it. So really they waited for nothing because they bought it in the long run.
I don't plan on using this right away as I think if they can ban you from live, they will wait to get everyone when halo 3 and forza come out. Then this may force everybody to have to buy a new 360 and many will be more tempted to to play these two games. I can wait.
Textbook
I want you to know I check this post every day, but I haven't posted since November 27, when I politely asked for an update. I'm not complaining, it was free. All I had to do was make a 20 second video. That's nothing that qualifies me to have a right to complain about something I'm getting for free. Actually, Xantium/Xbox-Scene/Xecuter have to pay for the shipping, and since I'm in the States, it's International so it's not cheap. So they are actually losing money while we just have to wait.

Ask for an update politely? Go ahead, but don't go overboard doing it every day.

If you're going to flame, just remember who you're flaming - the person who created Xbox-Scene. A wealth of information that is all freely available to you.

If we don't get the kits .. oh well, you wasted 10 minutes of your life making a youtube video. It's not like you spent the money on the kit and then didn't receive it.
XanTium
sorry for the lack of updates ... just been busy as hell over here.

All packages are finally ready and will be posted this week.
I'll post a pic of the packages tomorrow ... right now windoze doesn't want to recognize my USB flashcard.
XanTium
Here's the pic ...

Thanks Xantium !

No longer must I have to keep my Xbox 360 open just so I can use it to power drives.

Got my kit today! Thanks XanTium!
Peempz
Thanx Xantium received it today
StealthBlade
I received it today to, Thanx Xantium biggrin.gif

I received mine today as well. I was originally in the 1st batch of winners but mine went astray in the post, so many, many thanks to XBS staff for getting the replacement to me so quickly. I received my 360 Premium package on Christmas Day and it was manufactured in July 06 with a Toshiba/Samsung dvd drive. Can I make use of this competition prize with it ok?
travis134sg
I received it, thanks smile.gif
Cimlite
I got mine as well... thanks! smile.gif
Textbook
I received mine yesterday biggrin.gif

I'll definitely be using it a lot, thanks Xecuter , Xbox-Scene, and Xantium.
