How you doing everyone?

Well, I have a BIG trouble with Verbatim +R DL, it appears that my burner or the Disk are pretty bad, I've wasted 6 of 10 DVD's trying to get backups.

The ones burned Ok sometimes gave Error reading, but actually working fine (after cleaning).

Media Tested
Ritek: Burned Ok (quality is not the best)
Ridata: Burned Ok (Better quality)
Verbatim: Keeps failing (some others working fine and best reading, but many wasted)

And for the record, my DVD burner couldn't install the Vista RC1 (can't copy a special file) burned with itself, so I came to think is the DVD writter, but why does the other disk just burned OK?

DVD Details:
Lite-On DVDRW SOHW-1633S (BSOY Crossflahed, it was a Gateway OEM uncapable of Bitsetting before flash)
The drive is almost new, buyed that machine with burner included 3 months ago
Don't really know why did I purcharsed OEM equipment

Xbox Drive
TS-943.

Any help will be appreciated, and any sugestion for a newer drive too.

firmware, ripping method and burning program would be more helpful

update the dvd burner firmware to see if that helps

BSOY Crossflahed.
Using ImgBurn and CloneCD

Both programs stops at 50 %

If I reflash again, what Firmware should I use?

DVD drive model is the same before and after update, firmware is the only thing that changed

I've had trouble with the latest Verbatim + R DL rated at 8x on my ms25. Everything burns just fine, the Toshiba just doesn't like the media.

Before you waste more discs, get a different brand and try a burn and rip with that.

I doubt it is the media unless it is a bad batch. the burner is questionable, there have been lots of people that have success burning and then all of a sudden not. like me. I had an HP that worked once and then never again. It still works great for dvd-r and cd-r but not dual layer. so I spent $30 on a pioneer 111d and havnt had any issues yet.

Sorry to bother you, but, did you really read closely?
Is not problem with my Xbox drive not reading well (data was posted only for comparition on media), the real problem is the DVD writer

Well man, you have a point, I'll have to spend more money and buy a real DVD burner with a nice support for DVD +R DL
