I remember when anything consumer level IBM pretty much sucked.. they did great at 1st then went to hell.. then they stuck with their server products.. now they are all high tech again and doing well in the video game processor sector

Well when they were selling PPC processors for Macs I read I think it's only 1-2% sales of there total hardware, so when Apple switched to Intel it didn't affect them a lot.

They did do the CPU for game cube as well .

Wasn't a big part of Apple's decision to switch processors the fact the IBM couldn't give them the volume of processors they needed? I had to wait nearly a month on my dual G5 being built a couple of years ago, and the rumour at the time was that Apple couldn't get enough CPU's. Coupled with IBM's inability to give Apple a G5 cool enough to put in a laptop ... it came as no surprise that the 360 gets so hot

p.s. My father worked at IBM when they were developing these chips..I specifically recall the PS3 chips being developed at my fathers particular fab. And now he works at Qimonda (use to be called Infineon) making the ram chips for the 360 (maybe other systems)...go figure.
