I have home videos in vob format stored on mulitple drives on my PC. I just bought a new xbox 360. What's the preferred way to stream these to an xbox 360? My PC is running Windows XP.

Thanks in advance,

unless there was a change in the recent update your going to need Windows Media Center to stream vidoes to your 360.

as for VOB's or dvd's its fairly simple.
i use dvd shrink to convert the vob/dvd into a single vob file inc the audio that i want.
then i rename the file to whatever.mpg and it players directly via WMC with out any need for transcoding or the like.

So if I have a Windows Media Center box, it will play the vobs without renaming them or creating them as 1 vob?

no..sorry if i was unclear.

you need Media Center just to stream any video files to the 360, vobs or otherwise.

im not sure if you can play single vobs even after renaming them.
i use dvdshrink to first strip out all sbus and ausio i dont need and then use the backup part to convert the film to a single file.

maybe you can play individual vobs off a dvd....
maybe you dont need to strip out subs and other audio tracks.

just saying how i do it.
