Does anyone have any experience with this drive in particular. I know that it SHOULD work but it doesn't. I have tried with all combinations of master/cable select/32GB clip/15 or 16 heads etc. but no joy. I still get flashing red and error codes 11 or 21 (seems random) in the top-left of the "there is a problem with your x-box" screen. I am now stuck with a WD 40GB drive which is OK but it is full! I have the Xecuter mod in a US machine. I guess all other info (evo-x version etc.) is irrelevant at this stage. Any ideas where I might go next?

Are you SURE he has the 120GB drive TAZKMAR? I have a friend with the 80GB version of the 120GXP which works OK......

after checking with the installer ( me ) the answer is yes. In fact I commented on how noisy the darn drive is and how it seems to run very hot. if he left his cover on the case it would have problems after a while. With the cover off it ran just fine. Eventually, he just pulled everything out of his m$ supplied xbox and installed it all in a pc case. now he has plently of cooling and the ability to swap dvd drives and hard drives on the fly.

I installed an IBM 120 GB with 7200 RPM with not problem. I left the drive as manufacture default (Master). User the IBM Drive Fitness Disk to Zero out the drive and follow the rest of the tutorials. This tutorial has everyhting you need:

i got the 80gb one, it runs pretty awesome, i dont have a problem with it. It doesnt get hot and its the 7200rpm one. Im pretty happy with it, i know what you mean with the jumpers crap, i set it to master 32gb. Perfect to zero out, and no problems formatting in evox.
