I have a Samsung HLR6167 DLP and it supports 720p native and 1080i resolutions. Can I use the VGA cable to output a 1080 interlaced resolution?

if you're sure the tv's native's are 720p and 1080i then sure 1080 would display fine over VGA or even component...
