Every once and while, when I turn my xbox on, it is booting right to the "service is needed screen". Usually this wouldn't be a big problem but, it isn't displaying the xecuter underneath the xbox logo. Do you think that I could have a wire lose or something?

well it is probably because you're using a pogo pin chip and your hard drive is unlocked.

No, I am using the xecuter 2 lite, without the pogo pins. And I am still using a stock hard drive.

If you are not getting the XECUTER logo then the retail bios is loading instead of the modchip's bios.
This is most likely due to a loose wire, probably the D0. Check each wire with a multimetre if possible.
The most common reason for this is a dry solder joint (looks soldered but the wire isn't making good enough contact) which can be fixed by simply heating the solder to melt it and let it dry again.
However, this would only bring up an error screen if you are not using the original Xbox dash (if you're on EvoX or whatever).
Hope it helps.
