I am in the process of buying a 360 and plan to flash the dvd drive. I did some research and people suggest I find a 360 that was manufacture before august 2006. They said the date can be found outside of the packaging but I went to FYE today and ask them to search for one but they said they couldn't find any date on the packaging. I even examine it myself and I could not find it. Can someone tell me or show me an image of where the date is located on the box? TIA!

I think there is a little flap that has to be opened in order to see the S/N of the box (for stores to ensure you are returing the same box you bought if you have to return it....PS2's and xbox had this as well). You can also see the build date there too.

That's strange...I even looked at that serial # tab that you are talkin about but didn't see a date. What is the format of the dates?? is it just numbers? I'll try to go look for one again.

There are 3 sets of numbers above the SN barcode....the top is the MFG date.
