I've seen a "lot" of posts saying that a pioneer 111d is "the" drive to use if you have a hitachi drive ...
I saw a lot of older posts saying that the pioneer 110d was a good drive.
I happen to have a 110d, and really didn't want to upgrade ot a 111d ... does anyone have any recent experience with the 110d & the newer hitachi firmwares? Still good for backing up games?

Yes even the older variants of the Pioneer drives seem to get along pretty well with the Hitachi drives. Be sure that you have the latest media check firmware flashed to the Hitachi though.

I just met a guy that has a 110 that wouldnt burn without coasters. I told him to flash with the dangerous brothers FW and it is working perfectly now.

It's running the 1.39 factory firmware -- there's a 1.4x version, but the release notes didn't have much that looked beneficial.
I'm waiting for my 360 to arrive ( pre-flashed hitachi ) ... I guess once it arrives, I'll give it a go with 1.39, and if that fails I"ll try the alternate firmware you suggested.
I'll post the results once I get there.
Thanks for the input everyone.

Which Dangerous Brothers Firmware should I use for my Pioneer 110D? I see a version 1.39 on their website along with a 1.22 with Bitsetting firmware.
I have a Toshiba Samsung drive in my 360 if that matters.

Hello all,
I have a similiar question, but I didn't want to open a new topic for it... anyway, I have an Asus DVDRW, which is a Pioneer 108 inside. does anyone have experience with this burner?
