i bought a samsung D162 drive preflashed with kreon 0.81 because i was geting tired of using my 360 drive to extract the SS ( and opening it every time).

ive tried to use XBC to extract the entire image but i keep geting error at about 3.5% of the way through when it trys to read the SS. i already know how to extract the image using wxripper and clone CD so if you cant help me use XBC is there another programme that will just extract the SS.

Did you get an error when you ran GETSS.exe? If so, what it say? Which firmware you using?

no i dont think there was an error. im using Maximus-Garyopa_XTRM-HITACHI_v2_3_Stealth Revision 2.

should the GETSS prog that came with that firmware work on the samsung D162 kreon 0.81?

make sure the 162 is set as master, and if still no go, on primary IDE channel.

XBC should work flawlessly.

ok ill try that, i think i have it as slave at the moment.

i just copyed saints row using a security sector i extracted with my 360 drive and it worked, i then used the same saints row image using a security sector i extracted using the D162 and it failed so the GETSS E SS.BIN IS only for a 360 drive with a correct firmware

with the D162 you should just be using xbox backup creator. literally hit the read button "create complete backup" and then hit the write button. it should be that easy.

the d162c must be set on the master slot of an ide channel

just a note for whoever that might have the same problem. i had the same problem as stormz but mines was already set as master on my primary IDE, but the slave on the primary IDE had the pin on cable select which made XBC getting errors. once the slave was set to "slave". everything worked like a charm
