In Halo 2 is it possible to boot someone from the game?
CJLee89
only in custom games and only if you are the party leader.
BirdofPrey
or in matchmaking if someone is betraying you
CJLee89
indeed

Whats weird is.. I was in a matchmaking game.. and one guy kept deleveling. I started running at him asking him to kill me so I could boot him.. but somehow, he booted me!!!! Happened twice with two different delevelers... in matchmaking.

MODDERS
Applejacks
Ahh... damn it. But they weren't even very good. Oh well. Thanks.
CJLee89
what they do is find your xbox's IP address and boot it from the game. modders arent always good. you can always kill them they might have like automatic weapons, longer gun range, run faster, things like that but you can still kill them. you will run into more of these ppl the higher of level you get.
Applejacks
Ahh thanks for the info. Its weird cause sometimes people would be flying all over the screen.. standing in one spot one second, then almost like lag, somewhere completely different the next.
CJLee89
yeah just report them when you see this. its common in the higher levels.
Applejacks
When you report.. what do you use.. "cheating"?
BirdofPrey
Cheating yes, I don't beleive i've been offended enough to leave any other kind of feedback heh.. but thats just me, however I constantly leave cheating feedback for those little skinny dicked 'modders' that like to cheat their rank up.

CJLee89
yes thats what i meant smile.gif

I know this is an old topic, but I have something else that may be of interest.

Sometimes when there is a really big firefight, and I get killed, it never says "Betrayal", but the boot screen comes up to boot one of my team mates if I press X, even though it says "Name killed koolkid1935" in the upper left, versus "Name betrayed koolkid1935". This could be why some of us are being randomly booted in matchmaking, the game is saying that you betrayed them, when you really didn't, the boot screen comes up on their end, they boot you, and your gone.

This has happened to me more than once.

Just a system bug.
I've been given the option of booting people who didn't even betray me before. . . unless they're really betraying me on purpose I never boot anyone.
Vektor0
That's the way it should be. You shouldn't boot someone for an accidental betrayal. In my opinion, Friendly Fire should always be turned OFF. I have no idea why you'd want it on in Halo 2.
