i own a xbox 360 and a xbox, i was needing to know a couple things. Can an xbox 360 and an xbox be networked together where me and my brother can play head to head multiplayer together? if this is indeed possible how would i go about networking them, we are both on the same wireless network both xboxs are hooked into a netgear wg302 router if anyone can give me an address to a tuturial or post one it would be greatly appreciated

What seems to be your problem exactly? If you are trying to play multiplayer games, such as halo 2(using as a example because both systems can play it), and you don't have xbox live, you can only play h2h games that support the System link feature. If you do have xbox live, just get another gamertag, and your set.
