hey everyone,

i recently bought a 360 chameleon case which looks like this: http://www.xcm.cc/Chameleon_case.htm
ive installed it it looks really nice, then i recently purchased this: http://www.xcm.cc/xcm_add-on_fan_installation_diagram.htm

now the chameleon case hooks up to a mini circuit board, then to my dvd drive. and if you look at the fan link that i just pasted, it also hooks up to the dvd drive through a mini circuit board. (there is a pic of the hookup on how it looks, my chameleon case has the same hookups the fan comes with)

now my question is, how would i go about hooking up this fan when recieving it, if my chameleon case is already hooked up to a circuit board, then to my dvd drive, and the fan requires the same thing, how would i go about hooking up the fan? can i tap into the red and black power and ground wires of the fan, and solder them to a power / ground somewhere on the 360 motherboard? if i can, what is the best spot for that? if not, what are my other options, if i have any?

and 1 more question...for the ring of light on the xbox 360 front faceplate on the right side, can i use these surface mount leds to light them up: http://www.lsdiodes.com/shop/index.php?mai...;products_id=53 <- will those work?

or do they have to be these: http://www.ledtronics.com/ds/smd-smr10/ (right angled).

thanks guys, happy holidays to everyone,

honestly, do not TAKE AWAY POWER FROM THE DVD DRIVE! it has been said before your just fucking yourself in the longrun.. scrape them both if you can and find another way to get 12v power straight from the PSU!

agree x2, just use the 12v from under the PSU hookup.

why would they make something like that thatll eventually kill the dvd? i dont think it will, cause its hooked up to a circuit board it just piggybacks off the dvd, in my views i think its fine, but where to hook the fan up to?
SLuSHIE
alright i think i found my answer for the fan, just use the power underneath the power connection on the mobo tongue.gif what about those surface mount leds from lsdiodes, can those be used on the ring of light on the 360 and controller ring of light? or do they have to be those right angled ones?

thanks

not quite sure what ur getting at... you want to take ur leds and mount them for your ROL and controller? if soo i think for the wireless you need to have specific wattage... i'm sure theres a tut for it... as for the ROL if they're 3mm led's your going to have to shave them down...
