I recently ruined my thomson dvd drive and i was thinking about buying a new xbox and switching the drives. I really want a samsung dvd drive. Is there any way to tell what brand drive an xbox has before you buy it. If I buy one and open it to see what it has, i dont think the stores will take it back.

they all have different trays.

U cant tel the drive type unless u actually open up the packaging an eject the dvd drive tray. As long as you dont open the xbox (unscrew the bottom, remove the warranty stickers) the store should accept it back. Check the store return policy just to make sure though.

my post was mainly about the idea of returning an opened xbox... But yeah u did post pics.
